A design that is in tune (not just close enough) is particularly important with multi-chamber bandpass enclosures that have to be tuned an octave apart for optimal performance.  If the airspace is off, the tuning is off.  Most designers account for sub displacement, bracing, and port displacement but rarely account for port line extension or the shape of the cone when it comes to accurately calculating airspace and rarely ever account for end correction.
